This whole adventure started as an experiment: Can I design and sew Easter dresses for my daughters? I had a favorite dress style in mind, but the challenge was to recreate the pattern, in two sizes, and then figure out how to assemble them. Well, it worked.
I used my mother's old Singer sewing machine - the one she taught me on many years ago - and cracked the code that would become FISCH Collection's first garment: the reversible smock dress for young girls (12mo-4T).
I received compliments, then requests from friends to make one for their child, then some encouragement to set up an Etsy shop. I created a blog, bought a faster sewing machine, printed some business cards, and built a website. In September 2020, I changed the name to K.FISCH. The momentum has been exciting (and the learning curve to build a clothing and accessories business has been steep!) But most importantly for me, it's a fun and creative endeavor.
I love to design and create special and functional garments that are unique, and that also might make life with little kiddos a little easier. The high-end fabrics and buttons sourced largely from my local independent fabric shops assure that these garments and accessories will look still great after many wears, washes and hand-me-downs.
Thank you for supporting K.FISCH!
